Inspirations:
Pictures are from a Chinese clothing history book "Zhongguo Lidai Fushi 中國歷代服飾" published in 1984, Shanghai Xueling Publisher.

BACK On March 23, 2007 I finished my Qu Ju Shen Yi 曲裾深衣 (wrapping hem robe) inspired by Chinese Womens clothes from Warring States Period (403-221 BC). The fabric content is Rayon with paisley prints from the 80's. I feel that the printed side is too busy, therefore I used the back side of the fabric as the surface and the printed side as the 3” wide collar and borders. It took me about 2 weeks to make. The wrapping hem gives an elongated visual effect which I think is a very smart design that our ancestors already found the beauty of 2500 years ago.
