Tools Needed:
Philips head Screwdriver
Soldering Iron (15W or less with very fine tip)
Solder

Unplug your PS2 from the power source and any video connections. Remove any CDs or memory cards. Turn the unit over and remove the 4 rubber pads in each corner of the bottom. Then remove the 2 plastic pads in between the rubber pads and the two plastic pads at the end of the console. You now have access to the 8 base screws. Unscrew them and set them aside. Turn the console over and very carefully tip the top of the console over to one side. Then undo the two screw that hold in the sockets and the two that hold in the fan and swith. There is also one screw under the swith/fan that need to be removed. Replace the top cover carefully and turn the console over again. Very carefully, remove the base from the PS2. Undo the 4 screws holding the top circuit board on and tip the board over to the side out of the way. Lift off the plastic sheet and the metal frame for the expansion bay, then unplug the fan. There is a metal plate covering the main board. Take out the 9 screws which hold the metal plate on. Carefully lift out the metal plate and set it aside. You will also need to get access to the other side of the board by disconnecting the cables and turning the board over
Soldering Information Solder the wires according to the diagram. Very lightly coat the tip of the wire with solder. Then hold the wire on the soldering location. While the wire is still on the spot touch the wire with your iron. It should attach instantly and your connection is done. After you have soldered the wires, check to make sure no bare wire touches any other points. No solder should be on any other points besides the soldering locations on the diagram. Mount the chip on the circuit board using double sided tape or glue so that it can not come into contact with any other circuitry or the body of the PS2. .Reconnect everything else you took off or disconnected before installing the chip Reassemble your Playstation 2 and make sure the the wires do not get caught As long as you've followed the instructions very carefully, you should have no problems.

How to Run PS2 games:
- When using PS2 original, PS2 DVD thick disk, PS2 DVD thin disk, and PS2 CDR game disk: Insert game disk, hold down RESET turn off console until red led lights up then press RESET once to turn on the console.

How to Run PS1 games:
- When using PS games: Insert game disk, hold down RESET turn off console until red led lights up then press RESET once to turn on the console, wait for the blue led to light up and then press RESET once more (try once more if it fails).

How to Run DVD discs:
- When using movie DVD (warning: it can only read movie DVDs according to the PS2 console region): Insert the disk, hold down RESET turn off console until red led lights up then hold down RESET, turn on the console and wait until the screen appears on the TV.
