Briefly, all PS2s with the "R" at the end of the model number (SCPH-3000xR) should be either V5 or V6 (it does not matter which as the chips for both are the same).

Also all models beginning with SCPH-39xxx are V7s.

All others will be earlier versions. If you have the 30002 console with 10 base screws, including those in the stepup, it is a V3. If it has 8 screws it is a V4.

If you still do not know which version of the PS2 you have, you can email me with the SCPH - number, the serial number and the number of screws in the base, including those in the stepup. From those details, I should be able to determine which console you have.

Which modchips can I use in my console???

If you have a V7 console, you will need a Bluechip 39002 - see the link to the left or below.
If you another PAL version of PS2 you can use the Messiah for the V3 to V6 consoles or the SBox.
If you have a V4, V5 or V6 you can also use the No Solder chips.
If you have a V4 or V5 you can also use the Neo 2.6
