Briefly, all PS2s with the "R" at the end of the model number (SCPH-3000xR) should be either V5 or V6 (it does not matter which as the chips for both are the same). Also all models beginning with SCPH-39xxx are V7s. All others will be earlier versions. If you have the 30002 console with 10 base screws, including those in the stepup, it is a V3. If it has 8 screws it is a V4. If you still do not know which version of the PS2 you have, you can email me with the SCPH - number, the serial number and the number of screws in the base, including those in the stepup. From those details, I should be able to determine which console you have.
