1959
Santo & Johnny hit the charts in 1959 with the most unique guitar instrumental of all time, Sleep Walk. Sleep Walk was the last number 1 instrumental of the 50’s and earned them a Gold Record. With their unmistakable Steel Guitar sound, they appeared on all the Bandstand Shows, The Alan Freed Show, Dick Clarks’ Bandstand, The Perry Como Show, etc.
1962 - 1973
They were signed to an Italian record label. First success in Europe was Sleep Walk, followed by hit singles: Love Story, Maria Elena, Ebb Tide, Love is Blue, Enchanted Sea. They did all the cover records for the James Bond films.
1965
Recorded the Beetles song, “And I Love Her” . It was number 1 for 21 weeks in Mexico. Received the Golden Kangaroo Award in Mexico for it.
1973 Recorded , The Godfather, the theme from the movie. It held number 1 for 26 weeks in Italy. They received a Gold Record for it in Italy, and were inducted into the Hall of Fame in Italy.

Recorded and released over 40 albums worldwide. They worked these 14 years appearing on TV and playing clubs and casinos all over Europe.

Johnny has kept the magical steel guitar sound alive performing as a solo artist all over the country. Appearances at. The Greek Theater in California, The Paramount Theater in NYC, The Hollywood Casino in Mississippi, Ruth Echard Hall in Florida, The Continental Airlines Arena/The Meadowlands in New Jersey, The Philharmonic Center in Naples, Florida, The Mohegan Sun Casino in Conn., and Madison Square Garden, NYC, Harrahs in Las Vegas.
